Berber Teaching "Tamazight di lakul..."

In Catalonia the teaching of Berber languages will be integrated in the school system of the Catalogne area (Barcelona). The advertisement was made by professor Salem Chaker of the national Institute for Eastern languages and cultures (Inalco). At the time of the debate "Teaching the Berber here and over there: Stakes and realities "animated by Michel Alessio, chief of the mission for languages of France (Culture ministery) which takes place on last 19 March. Equipped with a statute of autonomy (1931) removed under Franco, Catalonia reciver it in 1979.

It is directed by a local government (Generalitat de Catalunya). It counts 5,9 million inhabitants and the Catalan is the mother tongue of approximately 60% of the local population. From the numerical point of view, it is the second area (after Andalusia) in the Spain, and also the richest and one of the most dynamic. In Europe, the teaching of Berber is up to that point circumscribed only in France where it exist nearly a million and half speakers, French citizens for the majority. Since 1985, it is integrated into the optional tests of the baccalaureat. They include a two hours written test : a text of twenty lines to be translated, questions of comprehension, and a comment part. Each year, between 1500 and 2000 candidates present themselves to it.

haha, ik heb me blijkbaar onderschat in Engels :) ,  Maar het is goed dat Berbers op andere openbare scholen gegeven zal worden.
