Al Aqsa Foundation: “Fundamentalists broke into the Al Aqsa Mosque”

The Al Aqsa Foundation for Waqf (Endowment) and Heritage reported Sunday that a group of fundamental Israeli settlers broke into the Al Aqsa Mosque from Al Mughrabi Gate, toured in the area and prayed in the yards of the mosque. The Foundation added that this step is very serious especially since its comes with the beginning Holy Month of Ramadan, while in the past Israel did not allow Jewish groups to enter the Al Aqsa Mosque area during Ramadan.

It considered this step as part of the Israeli plans against the mosque, and called on the Jerusalem Palestinians and the Arabs in the country to flock to the mosque and protect it. Last Thursday, fundamental Jewish groups conducted ceremonies regarding their planned temple, which they want to ‘rebuild’ on the ruins of the mosque. The groups also held a wedding ceremony in the mosque and took some of its sand.

They also held seminars on the archeology of the area and said that “all indicators and prophesies indicate that the Temple is under the mosque”. Recently the Temple Institute, which advocates for ‘rebuilding’ the temple after demolishing the Al Aqsa Mosque, held a meeting for its members in the yard of the Al Aqsa Mosque.

In its mission statement, the Temple Institute states that it will do it can to bring about the ‘rebuilding of the temple’. It adds that its main focus is to start the actual rebuilding of the temple. The group was founded in 1987.

Heilige Ramadan in Gaza: Blootgesteld aan chemische verontreiniging en blokkade

De heilige vastenmaand Ramadan begint vandaag en het leven in Gaza is ondragelijk. De Israëlische chemische oorlogvoering op Gaza is blijven steken, alhoewel de Israëlische psychologische oorlog op Gaza doorgaat, de Palestijnen langzaam dodend.

Gaza inwoners worden frequent geconfronteerd met elektrisch afgesneden te worden en de stroomuitval blijft openbare dienstverleningen belemmeren. De grensovergangen naar de buitenwereld uit Gaza sluiten nog steeds 1.6 miljoen mensen af, de inwoners van Gaza wordt hun juridische mensenrechten ontzegd om hun eigen vaderland te verlaten en naar terug te keren.

Tijdens de Heilige Ramadan is het gebruikelijk dat moslims over de gehele wereld aan de zieken en armen geven. Leven in Gaza is blootgesteld worden aan chemische componenten

In Gaza wordt het de kinderen en jongeren ontzegd om gezond op te groeien, de volwassenen wordt ontzegd oud te worden, hun natuurlijke levensduur wordt ingekort door kanker, diabetes en andere dodelijke ziekten. Na de vele chemische oorlogen door de Israëliërs op Gaza wordt de bevolking in de dichtbevolkte enclave blootgesteld aan ongewoon hoge hoeveelheden giftige verontreinigende stoffen.

De bodem, de lucht en het water is besmet, aangetast door allotropen als arseen en witte fosfor, radioactief uranium(!), en andere chemische metaalelementen, zoals lithium, het bestrijdingsmiddel DDT en de zware metalen kwik en lood.

DU-munitie: Israel maakt Libanon onbegaanbaar

Nadat er al eerder was geconstateerd dat het Israelische leger gebruik maakte van (verboden) fosforgranaten, zijn er nu ook aanwijzingen dat er gebruik gemaakt wordt-van DU-munitie.

DU-munitie is munitie (bommen, granaten, kogels) met een kern van Uranium-238 (kernafval). Deze kern is sterk giftig en beperkt radio-actief. De uitwerking van deze radio-activiteit wordt echter met een factor 1000 vergroot doordat de Uranium-238 in het projectiel bij het afschieten en inslaan ‘aerosolt’ in zogenaamde ‘nanopartikels’. Het verstuift dus in miniscule deeltjes die gemakkelijk door kleding en gasmaker heengaan en het DNA en de chromosomen van levende dingen beschadigen. Permanent beschadigen. Tijdens een aanval met DU-munitie zal er een stofwolk van radio-actieve en zeer giftige deeltjes boven het slagveld hangen en vrijwel iedereen die de stof inademt zal op den duur ziek worden. De berichten uit Irak en Afghanistan liegen er niet om, vele tienduizenden mensen zijn ziek of al gestorven aan de directe gevolgen van DU-vergiftiging.

Het verhaal achter DU-munitie is heel eenvoudig. DU-munitie is onwaarschijnlijk effectief in het doorboren van bepantsering en geeft de gebruikende partij een groot tactisch voordeel. Het spul is niets anders dan schadelijk en gevaarlijk kernafval. De veilige opslag en verwerking ervan is dermate kostbaar dat het ministerie van energie (DoE) het met liefde gratis weggeeft aan de wapenindustrie. De wapenindustrie noemt het vervolgens ‘depleted’ en kan het vervolgens doodleuk met grote winst verkopen als superwapens. Het gebruik ervan is een oorlogsmisdaad (UN-resolutie en Geneevse conventie) en de DU-munitie voldoet aan alle kenmerken van verboden wapens, zelfs aan de kenmerken van atoomwapens:

■ maakt geen onderscheid tussen vriend en vijand of burger en soldaat
■ zal nog lang nadat de oorlog over is zijn schadelijke werking behouden (4.5 miljard jaar en het is nauwelijks op te ruimen)
■ veroorzaakt (op den duur) ‘onmenselijke’ verwondingen en handicaps, ook bij het nageslacht
■ de werking ervan is niet beperkt tot het slagveld.

Het Amerikaanse ministerie van Veteranenzaken (VA) geeft inmiddels toe dat de meer dan 335.000 Amerikaanse soldaten permanent ziek zijn geworden door DU-vergifitging. Het mysterieuze Golf-oorlog syndroom bleek achteraf toch niet zo mysterieus.

Uit angst voor de enorme schadeclaims en mogelijke berechting blijven betrokken regeringen (ook de Nederlandse) op basis van onzinnige argumenten en struisvogelpolitiek ontkennen. Met succes vertrouwend op de naïeviteit en algehele ongeinteresseerdheid van hun bevolking en de permanente winterslaap van de media.

De Nederlandse regering is er van op de hoogte dat er ook in Uruzgan op grote schaal gebruik is gemaakt van DU-munitie. Toch stuurt ze 1600 militairen naar het gebied. De kans dat deze militairen aangetast worden door DU-stof is groot. Van het leger van de eerste Golfoorlog zijn enorme percentages ziek van ‘non-specific’ aandoeningen, meer dan 50%. DU veroorzaakt non-specific aandoening en daarom kan het Pentagon nog steeds met redelijk succes blijven ontkennen dat het op zeer grote schaal oorlogsmisdaden aan het plegen is. Mijn gezond verstand zegt echter dat je niet ongestraft grote hoeveelheden kernafval kan verpulveren boven bewoonde gebieden. 100 ton in Kosovo, >4500 ton in Irak, >1000 ton in Afghanistan. Dankzij minister Kamp en staatssecretaris Knaap en zijn makkers is ook Nederland medeplichtig geraakt aan wat zich aan het ontwikkelen is tot één van de grootste oorlogsmisdaden ooit.

Palestinian children sing for Holocaust survivors

The Palestinian youths from a tough West Bank refugee camp stood facing the elderly Holocaust survivors on Wednesday, appearing somewhat defiant in a teenage sort of way. Then they began to sing. The choir burst into songs for peace, bringing surprised smiles from the audience. But the event had another twist: Most of the Holocaust survivors did not know the youths were Palestinians from the West Bank, a rare sight in Israel these days. And the youths had no idea they were performing for people who lived through Nazi genocide - or even what the Holocaust was.

"I feel sympathy for them," said Ali Zeid, an 18-year-old keyboard player, who added that he was shocked by what he learned about the Holocaust, in which the Nazis killed 6 million Jews in their campaign to wipe out European Jewry. "Only people who have been through suffering understand each other," said Zeid, who said his grandparents were Palestinian refugees forced to flee the northern city of Haifa during the war that followed Israel's creation in 1948.

The 13 musicians, aged 11 to 18, belong to Strings of Freedom, a modest orchestra from the Jenin refugee camp in the northern West Bank, the scene of a deadly 2002 battle between Palestinian militants and Israeli soldiers. The event, held at the Holocaust Survivors Center in this tree-lined central Israeli town, was part of Good Deeds Day, an annual event run by an organization connected to billionaire Shari Arison, Israel's richest woman.

The two-hour meeting starkly highlighted how distant Palestinians and Israelis have become after more than eight years of bloody Palestinian militant attacks and deadly Israeli military reprisals. Most of the Palestinian youths had not seen an Israeli civilian before - only gun-toting soldiers in military uniforms manning checkpoints, conducting arrest raids of wanted Palestinians or during army operations. "They don't look like us," said Ahed Salameh, 12, who wore a black head scarf woven with silver.

Most of the elderly Israelis wore pants and T-shirts, with women sporting a smear of lipstick. "Old people look different where we come from," Salameh said. She said she was shocked to hear about the Nazi genocide against Jews. Ignorance and even denial of the Holocaust is widespread in Palestinian society. Amnon Beeri of the Abraham Fund, which supports coexistence between Jews and Arabs, said most of the region's residents have no real idea about the other.

The youths said their feisty conductor, Wafa Younis, 50, tried to explain to them who the elderly people were, but chaos on the bus prevented them from listening. The elderly audience said they assumed Arab children were from a nearby village - not from the refugee camp where 23 Israeli soldiers were killed, alongside 53 Palestinian militants and civilians, in several days of battle in April 2002. Some 30 elderly survivors gathered in the center's hall as teenage boys and girls filed in 30 minutes late - delayed at an Israeli military checkpoint outside their town, they later explained.

Some of the young women wore Muslim head scarves - but also sunglasses and school ties. As a host announced in Hebrew that the youths were from the Jenin refugee camp, there were gasps and muttering from the crowd. "Jenin?" one woman asked in jaw-dropped surprise. Younis, from the Arab village of Ara in Israel, then explained in fluent Hebrew that the youths would sing for peace, prompting the audience to burst into applause. "Inshallah," said Sarah Glickman, 68, using the Arabic term for God willing. The encounter began with an Arabic song, "We sing for peace," and was followed by two musical pieces with violins and Arabic drums, as well as an impromptu song in Hebrew by two in the audience.

Glickman, whose family moved to the newly created Jewish state in 1949 after fleeing to Siberia to escape the Nazis, said she had no illusions the encounter would make the children understand the Holocaust. But she said it might make a small difference. "They think we are strangers, because we came from abroad," Glickman said. "I agree: It's their land, also. But there was no other option for us after the Holocaust." Later, she tapped her feet in tune as the teenagers played a catchy Mideast drum beat. After the event, some of the elderly Israelis chatted with students and took pictures together.

The encounter was not absent of politics. Younis dedicated a song to an Israeli soldier held captive by Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip - and also criticized Israel's occupation of the West Bank. Bovenstaande maakt voor mij duidelijk dat de Joodse organisatie achter het geplande concert gewoon misbruik heeft gemaakt van de onwetendheid en onschuld van deze kinderen. Deze organisatie heeft geprobeerd om jonge Palestijnse kinderen te indoctrineren en om te vormen tot "Jew lovers". Want net als Walt Disney weet zij dat jong geleerd is oud gedaan. >





Palestinian youth orchestra disbanded over concert for Holocaust survivors

Palestinian authorities disbanded a youth orchestra from a West Bank refugee camp after it played for a group of Holocaust survivors in Israel, a local official said on Sunday. Adnan Hindi of the Jenin camp called the Holocaust a political issue and accused conductor Wafa Younis of unknowingly dragging the children into a political dispute. He added that Younis has been barred from the camp and the apartment where she taught the 13-member Strings of Freedom orchestra has been boarded up.

"She exploited the children," said Hindi, the head of the camp's popular committee, which takes on municipal duties. "She will be forbidden from doing any activities.... We have to protect our children and our community." The move highlights the sensitivity of many Palestinians over acknowledging Jewish suffering, fearing it would weaken their own historical grievances against Israel. "The Holocaust happened, but we are facing a similar massacre by the Jews themselves," Hindi said. "We lost our land, and we were forced to flee and we've lived in refugee camps for the past 50 years."

Six million Jews were killed in the Nazi Holocaust of World War II, and hundreds of thousands of Jewish survivors emigrated to Israel after the war. Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians either fled or were expelled from their homes in the war that followed Israel's creation - an event known by Palestinians as their Naqba, or catastrophe.

Kaynan Rabino, director of Ruach Tova, or Good Spirit, the charity that organized the event, said he was disappointed to hear about the reaction in Jenin. "They approached us and volunteered to play. Wafa knew the orchestra would play before Holocaust survivors," he said. "We wanted to bring people's hearts closer together and if they are against that then that's a real shame."

Hindi said Palestinians - especially in his hardscrabble cinder block refugee camp - had suffered at the hands of Israel and demanded their grievances be acknowledged first. The refugee camp in the northern West Bank was the scene of a deadly April 2002 battle where 23 Israeli soldiers were killed, alongside 53 Palestinian militants and civilians, in several days of battle. The clash destroyed swathes of the refugee camp.

The camp's residents are descendants of Palestinians who were displaced during Israel's war of independence. The youths, aged 11 to 18, of the modest orchestra performed a goodwill concert for elderly survivors in the Israeli town of Holon Wednesday. The event, held at the Holocaust Survivors Center in the central Israeli town, was part of Good Deeds Day, an annual event run by an organization connected to billionaire Shari Arison, Israel's richest woman.

Hindi said the children's parents were not aware that the orchestra would play for Holocaust survivors. Younis was not immediately available for comment Sunday.
