Ik wist niet dat er ook vrouwen zitten bij de jaarlijkse missie van het ministerie van Religieuze zaken. (Elke Ramadan stuurt de Marokkaanse regring 3ulama naar gebieden waar zich Marokkanen bevinden).

Bovendien predikt deze mevrouw in het Tarifit. Al met al een goeie ontwikkeling.

P.S. Vorig jaar mocht voor het eerst een vrouw prediken tijdens de 'ddorous al-hasaniya' die de koning elke Ramadan voorzit.

Dit boek gaat over Abd Elkrim en het protectoraat.

Zoals bekend hebben imazighen in het noorden en het het zuiden gevochten tegen de bezetting, terwijl de Makhzen een verdrag met ze heeft getekend.  Spanje en Frankrijk  kregen zeggenschap over Marokko in ruil voor bescherming.

Het boek gaat over Abd Elkrim, die het verdrag beschowude als landsverraad en natuurlijk over  zijn rifrepubliek, vandaar die vlaggen op de cover. Beide hebben een  6 puntige ster.

Misschien moet ik me inderdaad kandidaat stellen om o.a. de bezoekers van Amazigh.nl te vertegenwoordigen. ;)

Ik ben het trouwens niet eens met de menning van velen hier!! Aangezien we de nationaliteit van van dat land (verplicht) moeten houden is het wel op z'n plaats dat we dan ook stemrecht/mogelijkheid krijgen. Bovendien is er altijd wel een partij die voor punten/zaken staat die ons aan het hart gaan. En daarnaast kunnen wij zelf ook een eigen partij opzetten die ons belangen behartigt als we ons niet herkenen in de punten van de andere partijen!

Maar helaas zijn er teveel mensen onder ons die een te eenzijdige beeld van de Marokkaanse politiek/overheid hebben waardoor zo verblind zijn dat ze de positieve dingen niet meer kunnen zien. Ik zeg dus hierbij dat; Als je echt iets wil veranderen, dan moet je dat soms van binnenuit doen door te gaan stemmen,  je verkiesbaar te stellen of een partij op te zetten komt die mogelijkheid een stap dichtbij!!

Expatriates welcome King's decision to allow them vote and run for office in Morocco

Rabat, Nov. 8 - Moroccan expatriates in Europe have welcomed as "historic" and "milestone" King Mohammed VI's decision to enable them vote and run for office in parliament.

   The King announced this decision in a nationwide speech Sunday to mark the 30th anniversary of the Green March.

   "We have received with great interest and enthusiasm the orientations given by the sovereign to the public authorities to enable the three millions Moroccan expatriates to have a say," said a Moroccan ecology and environment doctor in the University of Complutense in Madrid.

    The king has taken four decisions aiming, besides enabling Moroccan expatriates to vote in Morocco, at setting up constituencies abroad so that Moroccans may elect their representatives to the Lower Chamber; and allowing new generations of Moroccans abroad to vote and to run for office, just like their parents. The fourth decision provides for setting up a higher council for the Moroccan community abroad, to be placed under the monarch’s chairmanship.

    Mohamed Chaib, chairman of Ibn Battouta association and member of the regional parliament of Catalonia said, “the decisions announced by HM the king will make of the Moroccan expatriates co-participants in the future of their country of origin, while contributing to the development of their host countries.”

    “This Sunday will remain forever in the memory of all Moroccan living abroad,” said Mohamed Wahhabi, chairman of the Moroccan association in Westminster, England, underlining that the king’s decision to set up a higher council for the Moroccan expatriates will help tackle issues that affect the Moroccan Diaspora on the basis of a new and innovative approach.

    For the Moroccan expatriates in Belgium these decisions are a “big step forward”. “We have been doubly heard” said Mohamed Saoud quoted by the Belgian daily “Le Soir.”

    As to Latifa Ait Baala, spokeswoman of the Morocco-Belgian coordination for the Moroccan Sahara and the World Alliance of Moroccan Expatriates (AMOME), she deemed that “access to political rights and to the management of politics is a major step forwards for the expatriates.”

    Chairman of the youths of the CDH (democratic humanist party â€" opposition) in Belgium, Hamza Fassi-Fihri hailed the royal decision as the “most successfully completed” to associate the Moroccan community with the political decision-making process in their country of origin.

    Being represented in the lower chamber will give the Moroccan expatriates “a heavier weight and reinforce their political ties with Morocco,” he said.

    For the vice-president of the Federation of Moroccan Merchants and Workers in France, Tagant Lahoucine, Mohammed VI’s decisions evidence his care for the Moroccan expatriates, adding that such decisions are in line with the “initiatives that HM the king has been multiplying to establish a strong and united Morocco.”

Marokkanen in het buitenland krijgen stemrecht bij de Marokkaanse verkiezingen, bovendien kunnen zij zich voortaan ook verkiesbaar stellen.
