Moroccan movie 'Squelette' wins highest distinction at Amazigh Film Festival in Algeria



Setif (Algeria), Jan.14 - Moroccan feature film "Squelette" (skeleton), directed by Yassine Fennane, won the "Golden Olive Tree", the highest distinction of the 8th Amazigh Film Festival, which took place on 9 through 13 January in Setif (east of Algeria).

    "Squelette" tells the story of Hocine, a man who returned to his village after a stay in the city and pledged to sell his body to science.

    The prize was awarded to the Moroccan filmmaker by a jury including Algerian director Belkacem Hadjadj (president), French producer Jean-Jacques Bernard and Swiss actor Jean-Luc Bideau.

TUI Travel helpt Marokkaanse koning bij ontwikkeling toerisme
Noord-Afrikaans land bij Holland International dé zomerhit van 2008
Koning Mohammed de Zesde van Marokko heeft internationaal reisconcern TUI Travel  ingeschakeld om te helpen bij de ontwikkeling van het Euopees toerisme naar zijn land. Het meerjarenplan daarvoor omvat onder meer vluchten van Europa naar Marokko, de opening van diverse clubs en resorts en van jachthavens, winkelcentra en golfbanen. TUI Travel PLC en Marokko bouwen aan een toeristische toekomst en investeren in de ontwikkeling van nieuwe vakantiegebieden. Samen met de koning van Marokko heeft TUI Travel PLC, het internationale reisconcern waartoe ook TUI Nederland behoort, een meerjarenplan ter bevordering van het toerisme naar Marokko opgesteld.


Nieuwe badplaats Saïdia
Splinternieuw resultat van de samenwerking tussen TUI Travel, de moedermaatschappij van TUI Nederland, is de badplaats Saïdia aan de Middellandse Zeekust in het noorden van Marokko. De eerste resorts in deze kleinschalige badplaats openen in juni de deuren. Saïdia biedt de vakantieganger prachtige stranden, een jachthaven, golfbaan en een gezellige Marokkaanse souk met winkeltjes.

TUI Nederland, waar Holland International onderdeel van is, biedt als enige Nederlandse reisorganisatie Saïda aan. De vakantieganger heeft de keus uit drie all inclusive resorts: Gran Oasis Saïdia, Iberostar Saïdia en Barcelo Saïdia.


Club Agadir
Volgend voorjaar wordt bovendien Robinson Club Agadir geopend. Het 'merk' biedt circa 25 exclusieve clubs op aantrekkelijke zon- en sneeuwbestemmingen, in en rond Europa. Ze kenmerken zich door een hoog kwaliteitsniveau en volledige verzorging. Club Agadir zal naar verwachting eind april 2008 haar deuren openen.


Vijf vluchten per week
Een belangrijke voorwaarde voor groei van het toerisme naar Marokko is uitbreiding van het aantal vluchten van Europa naar Marokko. TUI Nederland vliegt deze zomer drie keer per week van Amsterdam naar Agadir en Marrakech; op dinsdag, vrijdag en zondag.

Brussel
Daarnaast kunnen gasten van TUI Nederland gebruik maken van de vluchten van JetairFly van Brussel naar Saïdia; het nieuwe kustgebied in het noorden van Marokko. JetairFly, de Belgische zustermaatschappij van eigen airline ArkleFly, vliegt deze zomer twee keer per week naar deze nieuwe strandbestemming.


Marokko à la carte
Holland International biedt dit seizoen voor het eerst Marokko à la Carte. Met dit systeem kan iedereen zelf zijn vakantie samenstellen naar het Noord-Aftrikaanse land. Vlucht, accommodatie en eventuele excursies worden los van elkaar uitgezocht, maar samen geboekt.

Combinaties
Zo zijn rondreizen, fly&drives, excursiepakketten en city-trips heel eenvoudig met een strandvakantie te combineren. Holland International heeft het meest uitgebreide Marokko aanbod in de Nederlandse reismarkt. Er is keuze uit twee tot vijf sterren hotels, appartementen en villa's.

Riads en dars
Ook biedt Holland International keuze uit verschillende riads en dars. Dit zijn traditionele Marokkaanse huizen, om een patio of tuin gebouwd en vaak ingericht in duizend-en-één-nacht stijl.

Labels
In de nieuwe Marokko brochure zijn verschillende labels gebruikt om het zoeken voor de verschillende typen vakantiegangers gemakkelijker te maken, zoals het All Inclusive label, Ambiance Label logo en het Golf label. Bovendien zorgt Holland International voor eigen Nederlandse reisleiding op de bestemming.

Message de condoléances de SM le Roi à la famille de feu Said Al Khattabi
Rabat, 08/11/07-SM le Roi Mohammed VI a adressé un message de condoléances aux membres de la famille de feu Said Al Khattabi, décédé jeudi matin au Caire à l'âge de 75 ans.

Dans ce message, le Souverain exprime aux membres de la famille du défunt, et à travers eux à l'ensemble de la "noble et respectable" famille Al Khattabi, Ses sincères condoléances et Ses sentiments de compassion en cette douloureuse circonstance, implorant le Tout-Puissant d'avoir le regretté en Sa sainte miséricorde et de l'accueillir en Son vaste paradis.

SM le Roi a également prié le Très-Haut d'avoir le défunt parmi les bons croyants et aux côtés de son père, l'illustre Moudjahid, le regretté Mohammed Ben Abdelkrim Al Khattabi, que Dieu l'accueille aux côtés des prophètes, des martyrs et des saints.

"Tout en partageant la peine de la noble famille Al Khattabi, à laquelle Nous vouons une grande estime, dans cette perte cruelle, Nous prions Dieu de vous accorder compassion et réconfort et juste rétribution pour le cher défunt", souligne le message.

Report : UNESCO: Amazigh Language, uncertain future


A group of experts working for UNESCO have just finished a study dealing with the issue of the longevity of languages of the world. The study revealed an astonishing truth. Of the estimated 7,000 languages spoken in the world today, linguists say, nearly half are in danger of extinction and likely to disappear in this century. In fact, one falls out of use about every two weeks.
It was in 1987 that UNESCO initiated an international programme, whose aim is to identify and record endangered languages and using language education in general, and language teaching in particular, as a means of promoting increased understanding between nations "peace through language diversity and plurilingualism ".


The research, reported in the study of UNISCO was based on field research and data analysis. It says that "more than half the languages had no written form and were vulnerable to loss and being forgotten"; their loss leaves no dictionary, no text, and no record of the accumulated knowledge and history of a vanished culture. In Australia, nearly all the 400 spoken and written languages are endangered and its number is lowering to 25 currently. Cameron and Niger are quoted as case of African countries where languages completely disappeared from the spoken and written field in the last decade.

The thorough study of UNESCO showed that any language spoken by more than one million of speakers has a life expectancy going to 50 year and more depend on its regular feasibility and applicability. The experts did not limit themselves to the linguistic poverty or the scientific character as the unique reasons to explain these disappearances, the political reasons are also put forward because these last factors would accelerate the disappearance of languages phenomenon.

Concerning Amazigh language, the study classified it as endangered language . The study included the fact that "Tamazight, and all its major varieties extending over North-Africa, have a whole provisional existence thus vulnerable and threatened of extinction". Although Amazigh language is spoken by millions, but the cultural production and its diffusion is still linked to the political considerations based on austerity and social ostracism imposed by the global Pan-Arabic regimes which stand in the way of its evolution. This is the reason why Amazigh language in North-Africa facing an unrelentingly cruel process of deterioration. Even if some of our intellectuals are seriously leaning on the problem, and made every effort to elaborate new theories and sufficient pedagogical tools for the promotion of the written usage of Tamazight.

Another measure of the threat to many relativley unknown languages, is that 83 languages with "global" influence are spoken and written by 80 percent of the world population. Most of the others face extinction at a rate, the researchers said, that exceeds that of birds, mammals, fish and plants.

I ideas moclearly recognise that these ve directly to the call for research in the Amazigh field. But rather than simply a call for more research, they call for better research and for more coordination of efforts. In a larger respect, they ask of our research more of our efforts.
